ABA 7 August
08/08/11 09:42
A
cool cloudy day with occasional drizzle kept the
numbers down for this ABA shoot. Lynne, Michael and
Brett all did particularly well. Good luck to those
competing at Gunnedah in the State 3D shoot.
ABA 31 July
01/08/11 10:02
A beautiful day in paradise and the consistent
scoring reflected the still conditions.
Congratulations to Jeff who once again has made Flight 1 with a number of excellent ABA scores this year. Also to Amanda who posted a personal best by a considerable margin.
Welcome to Craig, who came to shoot at Avon for the first time - we hoped you enjoyed your day.
Work commenced on separating the Bellbird ABA and Koala IFAA ranges into distinct courses without overlap. For those that know the area, there will be many new ABA targets in the area between the old 7th and 8th of Bellbird and down the hill to the western end of the IFAA range (behind 5,6 and 7). In this area, there are lots of gullies and hillsides and some dense trees, thick scrub, creek beds and steep climbs. There will be some rather excellent (and scary) shots.
At this stage the preliminary range looks like being ....
1. Group 1 - from old BB3 to back of IFAA butts
2. Group 3 - the old BB4
3. Group 2 - the old BB5
4. Group 1 - the old BB6
5. Group 4 - from old BB7 to BB11 butt
6. Group 1 - the old BB10
7. Group 3 - the old BB9
8. Group 2 - top of ridge into creek bed
9. Group 4 - top of ridge across valley to hillside
10. Group 3 - into the creek again
11. Group 4 - obliquely across a spur
12. Group 4 - downhill to back of Koala 5
13. Group 1 - in a creek bed
14. Group 5 - downhill to back of Koala 6
15. Group 2 - downhill to creek behind Koala 7
16. Group 5 - up open ridgeline
17. Group 3 - down a rough creek
18. Group 2 - up creek and amongst fallen logs
19. Group 5 - slight downhill
20. Group 5 - slight uphill - finishing up the hill and behind the old BB2/BB3
